In general, the co-op is responsible for maintaining all the physical operational systems involved with the co-op’s property, e.g., electrical wiring, plumbing, furnaces, water heaters, water softeners, etc. Decorative matters within their own apartment are the purview of the member.
As each apartment has its own individually-controlled furnace and water heater, members pay for their own gas and electricity usage.
Co-op members must supply their own stove and refrigerator for the kitchen (although often departing members have left theirs behind to be passed along to the new members).
The co-op provides laundry hook-ups for washers and dryers in the basements of two of the buildings, but not the laundry machines, which are typically owned and shared by those using each laundry room.
